Plastics come in many types and sizes. Each material has its own specific characteristics, processing techniques and applications. As a specialist in plastic processing, we can process any type of plastic sheet material for you, whether it is aesthetic plastics (design plastics) or technical plastics. But, of course, the most important question is: which type of plastic is best for your specific application? We will be more than happy to advise you.
Many types of plastic
The range of plastics is enormous and the applications are extremely diverse. It's also good to know that: different types of plastic are often known by several different names. Plastic materials with which we often process and use in our made-to-measure products are:
- Acrylic / PMMA, also known as Plexiglas® and Perspex®
- Polycarbonate (PC), also known as Lexan®
- PETG
- PVC
But you can also come to us for PS, PP (polypropylene), ABS, POM, PA, nylon, PE and other technical plastics.
Benefits of thermoplastics
We work exclusively with thermoplastics, such as acrylic, polycarbonate, PETG and PVC. This is because these plastics become soft when exposed to high temperatures. It makes them easy to mould into shape. They can also be shaped after processing. Another important advantage is that thermoplastics, unlike thermosets, can easily be recycled.
